The surface must be dry, clean, capable of bearing load, smooth and free of loose components, dust, grease, ice or condensation. Sharp and pointed bumps must be removed. Holes, cracks or hollows must be filled. For absorbent or porous surfaces, we recommend pre-treating with a spray primer.
Press the tape down firmly with a pressure roller or similar tool. Butyl behaves like a thermoplastic and becomes softer and stickier at high temperatures. To prevent the seal from slipping, secure the tape with a press-on profile. Avoid excessive contact pressure; do not press the butyl completely flat.
