Belleville washer shape
The Belleville washer form features angled teeth to create an optimum and simultaneous friction-fit and form-fit connection.
It makes sense in many cases – primarily when using short screws and loads which are vertical to the screw axis – to prevent the connection loosening by using lock washers to supplement the pre-tensioning force. For difficult conditions, such as harder surfaces, slotted holes, screws of strength class 10.9 etc., the strengthened VS design is recommended.
