Remove all loose particles from the testing piece surface with a wire brush, for example. If there is a layer of paint that is too thick (more than 50 μm), it must be removed. Use C10 to clean an oily surface. Shake the can and spray (at a distance of 25 cm) an even layer of Bycotest 104 Plus contrast colour onto the surface. Allow it to dry. Work calmly; do not allow the contrast colour to start dripping. Remove contrast colour from the nozzle by turning the can upside-down and pressing until only propellant gas flows out.

Magnetise the testing piece and spray Bycotest 103 onto the surface. Make sure that some Bycotest 103 flows over the area to be inspected. Shake the can before use. Continue to magnetise the testing piece for a moment after you have stopped spraying. The suitable spraying distance is around 20–25 cm. Any defects will appear as black lines or dots.

If you must remove the contrast colour, use C10.
