The protective sleeve for hydraulic hoses converts a potential high-pressure oil leak into a fine oil mist, thereby preventing the most serious damage and injuries. The sleeve also protects hoses/cables against external wear. The sleeve can be fastened using a dedicated aluminium ferrule, which is crimped using a hydraulic press. Fastening can also be carried out with a metal or strong plastic cable tie.

- Converts a point leak into an oil mist and prevents mechanical wear of the hose
European standard EN ISO 3457 requires that the hose must be protected if the following criteria are met:
Operating pressure exceeds 5 MPa (=50 bar) or fluid temperature exceeds 60°C.
Hoses are located within 1 metre of the operator in a normal operating environment and, in the event of hose failure, there is a risk that the fluid jet may reach the operator.
The sock should be a little loose on top of the hose for the water jet to disburse.
