Würth 4462 TIG welding wire is made from high-quality austenitic-ferritic steel, offering high tensile strength and excellent resistance to pitting and stress corrosion cracking. This wire is specially designed for welding and cladding stainless steels of similar composition, and it is ideally suited for use in the petrochemical and offshore industries. Typically used in applications where higher corrosion resistance is required. Can be magnetised and polished.
- TIG wire made of austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel alloyed with 22Cr9Ni3Mo
- High tensile strength
- Good resistance to pitting and stress corrosion cracking
- For welding, joining and cladding (duplex) stainless steels of similar composition
- Can be magnetised and polished
- Pitting corrosion resistance index PRE = 35
- Suitable for use, for example, in the petrochemical and offshore industries (e.g. sheet metal, piping), where corrosion resistance is required that is much higher than that provided by austenitic stainless steels in chloride environments and at temperatures of 50°C - 300°C.
- Typical applications also include: the sour gas industry, transport of chemical products, and the pulp and paper industry.
Weldable materials:
- Steel classes EN 10088-1/-2 Mat.No./UNS
